FAQs

Vaginal rejuvenation is a type of vaginal corrective treatment used to tighten, restore and renew vaginal tissue.

Our ThermiVa vaginal rejuvenation treatment does not cause any pain. Our procedure involves radiofrequency technology to tighten the vagina and labia, so patients don’t have to worry about any pain during or after the procedure.

Vaginal rejuvenation is a quick, non-invasive procedure that does not cause any pain to the patient. When preparing for treatment, a doctor will advise you to stop taking any medication, supplements, and certain vitamins at least two weeks before surgery. Other than that, there is not much preparation.

Once the procedure is complete, it will take up to 6 weeks to fully recover. Once the anesthesia wears off, however, patients can begin walking and take part in light physical activity.
In the first 24-48 hours after surgery, patients might experience some discomfort, so they are instructed not to partake in too much physical activity to minimize any pain.
For the next 6 weeks, patients will be advised to avoid sexual intercourse, tampon insertion, water submersion for lengthy periods of time, and high-impact activities such as horseback riding, motorcycling, bicycle riding, and similar activities.

Vaginal relaxation, which can occur from childbirth and aging in women, can cause many side effects. Many women report decreased sexual sensation after giving birth, though vaginal rejuvenation is about so much more than sex. We’ve heard of women who have had tampons fall out, heard “popping” sounds while walking, or couldn’t contain their bladder when they sneezed. Vaginal relaxation can also lead to decreased sexual sensation for women. Vaginal rejuvenation helps tighten the vagina, which can directly impact your sex life. In fact, vaginal tightness is one of the best ways to increase friction and help sex feel good for you again.

We perform Vaginal Rejuvenation because it’s pain-free and surgery-free. The one (yep, just one) treatment doesn’t require sedation or anesthetic, and the appointment is short. The procedure tightens the vaginal walls by stimulating the production of collagen. We use tiny pulses of gentle energy to help your vagina regain a better shape for you.

Though you should feel results after just one treatment, the number of treatments for optimal results will vary depending on what we are treating and how severe the symptoms are. Treatments should be spaced one month apart. An annual treatment is recommended for maintenance.

After a Vaginal Rejuvenation treatment, our doctors recommend waiting three to four days before having intercourse and also recommend avoiding using tampons during these days.
