Meet Zen Dermatology

Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a caregiver in the medical profession. Being the oldest girl of 9 kids, caring for others became a natural instinct. I have been a nurse for over 24 years (the last 6 years in aesthetics) and started my career as a neonatal nurse and in women’s health. After having a family of my own I needed a career that was a little more flexible. I was at a crossroads in my life and took a chance down a path I never imagined in my nursing career. I transitioned from hospital life to stay-at-home mom, to private practice, and discovered a love for aesthetics. There is this incredible unity of science and art in the aesthetic world and I found myself wanting to learn as much as I could and falling in love with it more and more every day. I was not prepared for the strong connection that is created as you walk each person through their personal journey to self-love. I knew I had found where I was supposed to be.

I strive to provide individual experiences and educate patients on how each treatment, product, and medication can maintain and enhance your natural beauty. I look forward to coming to work each day! I love to help people in their 20s looking for preventatives, the person over 50 who used to worship the sun, or the ones that just need a little more confidence in their daily lives. There is so much more to aesthetic medicine than vanity and I can’t wait to share it with you!

I have a deep-rooted passion for helping others feel their best. My goal is to empower people to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. I believe in providing exceptional medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologic care, focusing on integrated skin health and wellness for my adult and pediatric patient populations. I strive to connect with every patient on a personal level, fostering the development of long-term relationships. My clinical expertise includes skin cancer screening and treatment, adult and pediatric medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, psoriasis, eczema, acne, clinical and translational research and integrated skin health and wellness.

I’ve been a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist for over 4 years and have always had an interest in medical aesthetics. I love to make people look and feel their best. My long term goal is to further my education and become an RN so I can continue to provide excellent care to my patients. Zen Dermatology has provided me with the training and confidence to do so!

I have always had an interest in all things beauty and wellness. I have a huge love for people and ability to build connections. Zen has given me an opportunity to have the best of both worlds. Since 2013, Jason has served his community as a PA, gaining expertise in Aesthetic and Emergency Medicine. He holds a Bachelor's in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and a Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas Medical Branch. In 2017, Jason embarked on a journey into Aesthetic Medicine, where he unearthed a deep-seated passion for the field and garnered acclaim for his discerning eye. He discovered a profound connection between enhancing natural beauty and nurturing inner confidence, aligning mind, body, and soul in his practice. Behind his professional success lies a story of his own personal challenges: connecting the dots between mind, body, and soul in his own life. Striving to maintain balance amidst the demands of his career, Jason has faced moments of doubt and uncertainty. Yet, through introspection and self-discovery, he's learned to integrate mindfulness practices, physical well-being, and spiritual growth into his daily routine

I have worked in aesthetic medicine for several years and strives to give patients the best care and guidance from start to finish. Katie, an Ohio native, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2012 from Toledo, Ohio. She spent the first decade of her nursing career in critical care, including four years as a travel nurse across the U.S. These experiences shaped her dedication to patient care; blending science, compassion, and education. Over the last few years, Katie has transitioned into aesthetic medicine, where she has found her true calling in uniting her love of beauty, creativity, and self-care with her extensive medical expertise.

Her journey into aesthetics was driven by a personal desire to understand and improve skin health. Katie views aging as a privilege and believes in self-care that nurtures both inner and outer well-being, helping individuals feel confident and empowered. She has spent her time in aesthetic medicine focusing on natural yet transformative results. Katie is also passionate about supporting athletes and active individuals, offering treatments designed to promote recovery, optimize skin health through life’s many stages, and enhance overall physical wellness. Grateful to be part of Zen’s holistic and multi-faceted approach, Katie is dedicated to listening to her patients, assessing their unique needs, and crafting personalized treatment plans that enhance natural beauty and boost self-perception.

Outside of work, Katie loves spending time with her two young boys, hiking, exploring local eateries, Olympic weightlifting, and traveling.

I  have always had a keen interest in holistic medicine and finding ways to bridge the gap between internal and external wellness. I began working as a medical assistant in the aesthetics field in 2023 and since then I have continued to grow my knowledge in order to help patients put themselves first, nurturing their inner and outer self. I am ecstatic to be a part of a team that shares the same values as me and to build meaningful connections with every patient that comes through the door!

I have worked in laser aesthetics since 2000, and have been a nurse injector since 2005. One of my favorite components of my work is to develop collaborative relationships with my patients and educate them on the best way to achieve their aesthetic goals.

My experience in Integrative Medicine is working with peri-menopausal and menopausal women. I can help with lifestyle, supplements, and bio-identical hormone replacement to alleviate symptoms and achieve healthy longevity.

I am Licensed Esthetician and Spray Tan technician passionate about helping patients achieve their skin goals and boost confidence! I specialize in healing facials with personalized clinical treatments, creating a personal and genuine bond with patients. 

I am passionate about continuously improving my craft through ongoing education and staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and trends! I’m so excited to contribute and grow with Zen and can’t wait to help you on your skin journey!

I started my medical aesthetics career as a Licensed Esthetician and quickly realized how rewarding it was to help people feel more confident in their skin. Wanting to learn more about the clinical side of the business, I went on to become a Medical Assistant and Surgical Technician. Eventually, I was able to merge my business knowledge with my clinical knowledge to help practices run more efficiently and achieve the highest level of patient care. My position allows me to empower our team to help you achieve your goals so you can be the best you possible!

Monica has lived in Sacramento for over 25 years, she hails from Madera, a small town in the Central Valley. She was the small business owner of Bueno Sport & Swim for many years, in East Sacramento, and then sold it in 2021. She loves helping others; since selling her business she has helped local families and her friends run and improve their small businesses. She is a mom to 3 beautiful children, two who are now off at college. She enjoys time with her husband, her 8-year-old son, and their friends. She rarely has downtime but when she does you can catch her studying for her Pilates certification. She is looking forward to working with the Zen Dermatology family, helping them grow their business, and doing fun events with the local community! 

My passion has always been to perform clinical result-based treatments with a spa-like feel. My goal is that every patient leaves my treatment room with not just glowing skin, but a glow from within that comes from a feeling of rejuvenation and renewed confidence.

I have been a licensed esthetician for over a decade and many of those have been spent in a medical setting. I am forever a student with a passion for aesthetics. I am always seeking out new training and education to continually deepen my knowledge and improve my talent and skills in order to provide my patients the best care and information possible.

I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and a board certified Dermatologist. My expertise centers on general dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic services. With training in bioengineering, Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine, I merge modern research and science with a personalized approach to each patient. My training in Ayurvedic medicine lets me bring in a more humanistic approach to my patient care, science, and research.

Dr. Dang received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. She was amongst a selective group of individuals who went on to complete a medical residency in primary care at Bastyr University California to further advance her clinical expertise and training. She received her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience from University of California, San Diego, and has completed her own research study on the impact that meditation has on memory. Dr. Dang is a contributing author to LearnSkin, an online integrative dermatology platform on advancing the education surrounding multidisciplinary approaches to the skin. Meeting patients with where they are at is the foundation of her practice. Dr. Dang likes to use an investigative approach, working alongside her patients to achieve positive health outcomes. With her empathetic spirit, she believes in the importance of empowering her patients and being an advocate for them on their journey. She has a special interest in gastrointestinal conditions and dermatology, and is passionate about getting to the root cause of health concerns.

Since the beginning of nursing school, I always knew I would end up working in the aesthetics industry. I am passionate about helping my patients step into the world with confidence as the best version of themselves, whether with injections or even just through education and exploring all possible options to help them reach their beauty goals.
