Preparing For Your Treatment
What is a HydraFacial?
HydraFacial is a gentle, non-invasive treatment with no downtime. This treatment offers great results, giving your skin a radiant glow. This patented device uses a vortex swirling action to deliver exfoliation, cleansing, extraction, and hydration to the face. More and more people are turning to the HydraFacial as their primary functional, integrative medical skincare routine.
- Discontinue the use of any isotretinoin products like Accutane for 6 months prior to treatment.
- Refrain from any medium to deep cleansing/resurfacing treatments like chemical peels or laser treatments for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- If you have recently received botox and/or fillers, wait for 1 week after Botox and 2 weeks after fillers before getting a HydraFacial.
- To be extra safe, discontinue the use of Retinoids 5 days prior to treatment.
- Shaving is not recommended on the day of the treatment. Contrary to this, if you choose to shave, shave at least 3-4 hours before your treatment.
- You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin will feel smooth and hydrated for one to four weeks. For improved, longer lasting results, consider take-home products and monthly HydraFacial treatments.
- When cleansing, do not scrub. We recommend ZO Gentle Cleanser 12-24 hours after your treatment and continue the use daily in the morning and at night.
- Do not wax or use depilatory creams for 1-2 weeks after your treatment.
- Do not have any laser treatments for 2 weeks after your treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure for 2-4 weeks post treatment. Always wear your sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. We recommend ZD Sunscreen or ZO Sunscreen and Primer SPF.

The HydraFacial does not require downtime, so patients can enjoy its many benefits without sacrificing time from their busy schedules. Following their appointments, patients can return home, go back to work, and even exercise. *Results will vary from patient to patient
If you haven’t had any aesthetic services or practiced good skincare in the past, it can be beneficial to start with 2-4 HydraFacials a month. Once you’ve established a better baseline for facial skin health, you can benefit from a once-a-month appointment. These treatments are also good between laser resurfacing and IPL treatments.
